MAHSA MOGHADDAM SMOOT - Chin Augmentation in SHAKOPEE, MN

In Minnesota, MAHSA MOGHADDAM SMOOT M.D. performs Chin Implants by surgically placing them over the existing bone structure of the patient’s lower jaw to increase the dimensions of the face resulting in the desired effect.
Chin implants can correct a weak chin, make the nose appear smaller, elongate the face or improve the overall appearance of the face and profile by restoring symmetry and balance.
The typical Chin Implant patient in Minnesota is most often unhappy with the look and/or shape of their chin. Patients are both male and female, usually over the age of eighteen, and in good overall health.
Chin Implant results can be subtle or dramatic, depending on the effect desired by the patient. Often patient’s notice the procedure results in a significant added contour and shape to their face and profile. Balance between the top portion and lower portion of the face is achieved by adding chin implants, and often the appearance of the nose is minimized as well.
While a Chin Implant may minimize the appearance of the nose, it is not a nose job. Very often this procedure is combined with a nose job and performed at the same time so that the patient can achieve the most symmetry and balance for their face that is surgically possible. Chin Implants will also not correct sagging skin on the neck or address wrinkles around the mouth. Those issues can be addressed with other procedures that MAHSA MOGHADDAM SMOOT, M.D. would be happy to discuss at the consultation.
During the procedure, MAHSA MOGHADDAM SMOOT, M.D. will make incisions just under the chin, so as to minimize the appearance of scars. Working through these incisions, MAHSA MOGHADDAM SMOOT, M.D. then separates the skin from the underlying tissue. Excess tissue is removed for a chin reduction, or a silicone implant is inserted for a chin enlargement. The incisions are then closed with very delicate sutures and a dressing is applied. The entire procedure usually takes between one to three hours, depending upon how much work is being done. General anesthesia is normally used in SHAKOPEE for this procedure.
The sutures are removed by MAHSA MOGHADDAM SMOOT, M.D. in about a week. Some mild bruising and/or swelling are not uncommon and may occur during the first week after surgery. Any discomfort is usually managed through oral pain medications. Patients can generally return to work in about a week and engage in strenuous activities again after about two weeks.
Many factors contribute to the cost of any cosmetic surgery procedure. Some of those are geographic location, expertise of the surgeon, anesthesia used, and any hospital stay. Patient’s can expect a Chin Implant surgery in SHAKOPEE to range in cost from $3500 to $4500, depending on those factors as well as how much work the patient is actually having done. Since Chin Implant surgery is considered an elective cosmetic procedure, it is not normally covered by traditional medical insurance.
